Trajectories curve in circles, spheres, and parabolas in the Orbit Collection. Gem spheres are caged in wire armatures. Spheres project and swing around a central design element, like planets around the sun or charged particles in a supercollider. I was inspired by satellites and atomic structure as well as the playfulness of those motifs in midcentury design. The free moving elements in these designs give these pieces energy and surprise that attracts your eye and entices you to look closer.
