The Moen Statement Necklace Project

Moen Statement Necklace Project

My work is inspired by organic architecture: the vertebrae of a spine, the intertwined spiral of genetic coding, or the orbits of particles and planets. But my most recent project was inspired by something quite surprising: a bathroom faucet made by Moen.

To show how a faucet can transform your bathroom, just like a statement necklace can transform your look, Moen and The Martin Agency asked me to create two statement necklaces inspired by Moen’s new faucet collection.

I abstracted shapes from the 90 Degree Faucet to create a spilling of forms over the figure for the 90 Degree Statement Necklace. For the Weymouth Statement Necklace I chose to deconstruct its graceful curves into the engineering drawing behind the piece.

The innovative television commercials show my necklaces falling from the neck of model Noot Seear and seamlessly rebuilding into the actual bathroom faucets. The commercials air regularly on HGTV, Food Network, USA, and the Cooking Channel. You can see print ads featuring my necklaces in the magazines Coastal Living, Food and Wine, Southern Living, House Beautiful and Traditional Home.

Moen also commissioned limited edition pendant versions of the necklaces: the 90 Degree Pendant and the Weymouth Pendant.

Moen filmed two short documentaries in my studio in Seattle about the making of the two necklaces. Visit my studio and see the making of the two necklaces below.
