Here is a snap from my jewelry bench showing new pieces for my Metropolis collection. I'm using more of the beautiful blues I found at the Tucson Gem Shows this year, Lapis, Kyanite and rock crystal. This Kyanite has a beautiful fibrous crystal structure that shimmers with every move. The large Lapis disc (almost 3 inches) is the center piece of a new statement necklace that can be worn multiple ways. When this one is finished I'll feel like I've earned some super powers!
My ideas begin with drawings from my sketch book. When a work is in progress I take notes and draw more details on these large file cards. These are a great reference to return to if a piece goes into production.
